Linda Chase

Poets & Players was started in 2004 by poet Linda Chase with Musical Director Chris Davies and is run by volunteers. Linda died in April 2011.

    I would like to learn about the events to be held during 2014; do you do a brochure re. thhe programme?

    I live Iin Oxford but frequently vist Buxton so I would also be glad to hear of accommodation in Manchester – though this isn’t critical since there’s a good train service between Manchester and Buxton…[But it would be nice to stay in Manchester for my whole break.]

      We don’t do a brochure and some events aren’t fully developed yet in the sense that we haven’t got all the readers and musicians for them. Looking ahead in broad terms, though, we’ll be offering gigs on April 26 (Medbh McGuckian headlining), May 17 (Fiona Sampson) and June 21 (Vona Groarke and prize winners in our competition). We’ll also be mounting events in October (in collaboration with the MLF) and in November, though precise dates for those two months are yet to be decided.
